Plunge Into Your Neighborhood Hospitality Coordinator

Overview This is a student volunteer experience position. Volunteer experience participants receive stipend payments. The Hospitality Coordinators focus their time and energy on creating a welcoming environment for all Plunge Into Your Neighborhood Experience participants in support of Moreau Center Core Commitments. Responsibilities Assist the PIYN Coordinators and Program Manager with the final preparation of PIYN Coordinate all food and hospitality throughout Leader Training and PIYN Run a small kitchen for all meal preparation with the possibility of additional staff or volunteer support Prepare the PIYN facility and lead the clean-up crew Track and report expenditures for the budget if necessary Opportunity to welcome new UP community members, while working and volunteering in a fun and professional office If applicable, early move-in to campus in August All meals leading up to and including the PIYN Experience Minimum Qualifications Current Driver’s License and ability to drive University of Portland vehicles. Motivated and willing to take initiative to “get the job done” Willingness and ability to lead by example while giving direction to peers Able to take direction, if needed Well organized and responsible Willing to work hard while setting a good example for others Able to work in the kitchen and provide behind-the-scenes support during a highly programmatic and fast-paced program week Ability to obtain an Oregon Health Authority Food Handler’s Card (Moreau Center will pay for this, if needed) Willingness and commitment to demonstrating Moreau Center Core Commitments throughout the Plunge experience Other relevant duties as assigned Preferred Qualifications All qualified and interested students are encouraged to apply!
