Registered Nurse - Psych

Responsibilities Registered nurses (RNs) perform basic duties including treating patients, educating patients about mental and medical conditions, and providing emotional support to patients and family members. RNs run therapeutic groups, provide psychiatric crisis intervention, implement seclusion and restraint procedures, record patient medical histories, assist with diagnostic tests and their analysis, operate medical equipment, administer treatments and medications, and coordinate follow-up care and rehabilitation. RNs also teach patients and families how to manage illness or injury, develop diet and exercise programs, and self-administer medications and physical therapy. Other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Nevada. BLS upon hire and maintain current. Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards. Working knowledge of interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming, and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units. Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care.
