Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is looking for an experienced Cath Lab professional to lead our Fairfax Hospital Cath Lab

\n

Schedule: 40 hours/week. Unit covers hours: 24 x 7 (with elective cases during the hours of 7:00a – 7:00p)

\n

Unit details: 
\n We offer the full spectrum of interventional cardiology services for patients with advanced coronary artery disease including chronic total occlusion and CHIP procedures.

\n

Our high-volume program, team approach, excellent outcomes and access to a broad array of clinical trials allows our program to take on the most high-risk and complicated procedures when indicated. 

\n

This unit is comprised of 6 Cath Labs (2 of which are brand new labs with a Pediatric focused lab) and the CVOR for our structural heart program.  We average 25 cases per day (almost 5000 adult Cath cases last year). 

\n

We offer a full structural heart program, pediatric program, and latest procedures like Renal Denervation.  Inova utilizes Rampart Radiation Protection system for team safety and wellbeing.

Cath Lab Manager Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the overall people leader for the department, fostering a culture of engagement, accountability, and safety.

  • Ensure effective recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and training processes that support team member success. 
  \n
  • Establish and maintain continuing education programs and competency frameworks that promote professional growth and excellence. 
  \n
  • Champion clear, consistent communication across the department and key stakeholder groups. 
  \n
  • Drive quality, patient safety, and operational excellence initiatives throughout the labs. 
  \n
  • Identify, prioritize, and implement process improvement opportunities while supporting team members in addressing safety and workflow concerns. 
  \n
  • Build strong collaborative partnerships with organizational leaders and departments, ensuring active participation in interdisciplinary initiatives. 
  \n
  • Oversee the development, review, and maintenance of departmental policies and procedures. 
  \n
  • Lead efforts to sustain continuous regulatory compliance and year-round survey readiness. 
  \n
  • Provide strategic direction for departmental operations, workforce planning, and performance outcomes.

Cath Lab Manager Qualifications: 

\n

\n
• 5 or more years’ experience in Cath Lab, IR, EP or Registered Nurse with 5 years’ experience in critical care with interventional experience. 
\n
• If Rad Tech, CV Tech or EP: must possess one: RCIS, RCES, RTRCV, RTRVI, RTRC and graduate of an accredited School of Cardiovascular Technology or Radiology Technology or equivalent education and experience.
\n
• If Nurse: must be licensed to practice as RN in Commonwealth of Virginia as RN or possess one of the above registries, Graduate of an accredited school of nursing 
\n
• Current BLS and ACLS through AHA required upon start

Cath Lab Manager Preferred Qualifications:

\n

\n
• Prior leadership experience-ideally in Cardiac Cath Lab
\n
