Respiratory Therapist - Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shift, 3x12 hour rotations.

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care through intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed. The therapist evaluates patients, recommends treatment plans, and explains procedures to patients, offering necessary education upon discharge.

Responsibilities:

• Administer routine physician-prescribed treatments using various ventilatory, oxygen, and aerosol devices.
• Conduct chest physiotherapy and suctioning using various methods.
• Monitor oximetry and capnography according to policy.
• Review chest x-rays to determine the need for further evaluations.
• Perform 12-Lead EKGs and basic arrhythmia recognition.
• Assist with respiratory care procedures, including bronchoscopy, chest tube placement, and tracheostomy care.
• Conduct arterial punctures and monitor ventilation efficiency.
• Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation following BLS and ACLS guidelines.
• Set up and maintain mechanical ventilation on various devices and assist in equipment repair.
• Record treatment information and communicate effectively with healthcare teams.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Current Respiratory Therapist license.
• Experience in an acute care setting is preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
