Observability Engineer

Observability Engineer Location: Jersey City, NJ ONSITE requirement for a hands-on Observability Engineer to help build out telemetry for a monolithic application with distributed batch jobs.
The application currently lacks observability, and the client is looking to implement Open Telemetry-based instrumentation and integrate with tools like Grafana, Splunk, Dynatrace, or Datadog.
We need someone who can:
Instrument legacy Python-based components to extract logs, metrics, and traces using Open Telemetry.
Build and manage the data layer that enables integration with observability platforms.
Collaborate with Banking's internal Python team and provide hands-on implementation support.
Identify challenges in retrofitting observability into legacy systems and advise on best practices.
This is a delivery-oriented role, requiring hands-on skills - not just architectural oversight.
