In this hands-on role, you'll work closely with Automation Engineers to assemble automation cells, wire electrical controls, fabricate equipment components, troubleshoot systems, and support commissioning activities.This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working across electrical, mechanical, controls, and fabrication disciplines to bring automated manufacturing solutions to life.At Chromalloy, your work directly supports aviation safety and reliability. What you do here has real-world impact—every day.Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00a-5:00pWhat You'll Be DoingAssemble, wire, and integrate automated manufacturing cells and equipmentBuild electrical panels, install field wiring, sensors, safety devices, and control componentsSupport Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), equipment debugging, validation, and documentationConfigure, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC and HMI systemsInterpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and bills of materialFabricate machine frames, guarding, fixtures, brackets, equipment stands, and toolingPerform cutting, drilling, tapping, grinding, fitting, welding, and mechanical assembly activitiesInstall robots, pneumatic systems, process equipment, and peripheral automation hardwareTroubleshoot electrical, controls, and mechanical issues during build and commissioningSupport equipment installation, startup, and commissioning at Chromalloy sitesPerform routine maintenance and replacement of automation components and field devicesAssist with continuous improvement initiatives that improve reliability, standardization, and equipment performanceMaintain a safe, organized work area and follow all safety and quality standardsWhat We're Looking ForAssociate degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering Technology, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field; equivalent hands-on experience will also be considered3+ years of experience supporting industrial automation, manufacturing equipment, machine building, or related fabrication and assembly workExperience troubleshooting electrical, controls, and mechanical systemsAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and engineering documentationExperience with electrical panel assembly, wiring, sensors, interlocks, and automation hardwareHands-on fabrication experience including welding, drilling, grinding, fitting, fastening, and equipment assemblyAbility to safely use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipmentStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesWillingness to travel periodically to support automation deployments and commissioning activitiesNice to HaveExperience with Allen-Bradley Studio 5000 PLC programming and troubleshootingExperience with Allen-Bradley FactoryTalk View HMI development and configurationExperience supporting robotic work cells or advanced manufacturing automationKnowledge of pneumatics, rigging, machine guarding, and industrial equipment installationFamiliarity with industrial safety systems and manufacturing standardsExperience working in cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teamsProficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsPython or other programming language experienceWork Environment & Physical RequirementsWork is performed in manufacturing, laboratory, shop, and industrial environmentsExposure to moderate noise levels and manufacturing equipmentFrequent use of hands and fingers to assemble, install, inspect, and troubleshoot equipmentRegular standing, walking, reaching, bending, stooping, and crouchingAbility to safely lift and move materials and equipment up to 40 poundsThis position may require work hours outside of the regularly scheduled hours to meet operational needs. This may include work during evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Additional work hours are assigned based on business requirements. Non-exempt employees will be paid overtime in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.The salary range for this position reflects a broad spectrum of experience levels. Individual compensation within the range is determined by multiple factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, job related skills, internal equity, and market conditions.
