Overview

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab RN with at least 1 year of interventional cardiac cath lab experience for a day-shift assignment requiring an active IL RN license.

Details

• Work in a 5-room Cath Lab unit with an average daily census of 25 patients
• Day shift schedule of 4x12 or 3x12 hours (6:30 AM - 7:00 PM)
• Will work 2-3 weekends per contract
• On-call required as needed
• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities to meet facility needs
• Uses Cerner charting system

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required in hand at time of application
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI cards not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of interventional cardiac cath lab experience required
• Required procedural experience: circulating procedures, diagnostic and left/right heart catheterizations, and Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring
• Required medication experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• Required skills in dysrhythmia interpretation/management and procedural sedation monitoring
• Cerner charting experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred

Additional Information

• Work in a Level I trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital with 562 staffed beds
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• RTO requests ideally limited to 5 or fewer non-holiday days
• Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays
• Previous permanent or PRN employees must be separated from the facility for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates are accepted for this specialty
• Travel pairs are not accepted

The weekly pay shown in this posting, along with related figures, reflects the lower end of this range for local candidates and higher end of this range for travel candidates. Weekly travel pay includes tax-free stipends per IRS guidelines. Weekly local pay is fully taxable and therefore lower due to additional employer-paid taxes and related costs.
