We are looking for an entry-level Staff Accountant to join a collaborative team. This long-term contract to potential permanent position is well suited for someone who wants to build a strong foundation in accounting while contributing to daily financial operations in a supportive, detail-focused environment. The role offers exposure to core accounting processes, hands-on transactional work, and opportunities to strengthen accuracy, organization, and compliance skills.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain fixed asset records and support accurate accounting for asset-related transactions

• Process high-volume financial data with close attention to detail and timely entry into accounting records

• Assist with accounts receivable activities, including applying payments and posting cash receipts

• Support accounts payable functions by reviewing, entering, and tracking vendor invoices and related transactions

• Prepare journal entries and help keep the general ledger current and accurate

• Perform bank reconciliations and account reconciliations to identify discrepancies and resolve outstanding items

• Contribute to accounting activities tied to cash-basis reporting while supporting efforts related to accrual-based accounting practices

• Help prepare adjusting entries and assist with initiatives that strengthen accounting compliance and financial procedures

• Participate in reviewing and updating accounting policies to improve consistency and documentation

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Foundational knowledge of general ledger activity, journal entries, and account reconciliation
• Experience or familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash posting
• Basic Excel skills with the ability to work accurately with financial data
• Understanding of sales tax and exposure to corporate tax return support is preferred
• Strong data entry accuracy, organizational skills, and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently in a flexible, hands-off environment while remaining dependable and eager to learn
