Associate Director, Project Management

Gilead Sciences seeks an Associate Director of Global Program Management in Foster City to oversee moderately complex pharmaceutical projects, coordinate cross-functional teams, manage governance communications, and lead project lifecycle activities from early development through execution.

Responsibilities

• Partner with project leaders to develop, approve, and execute project strategy and coordinate team operations
• Co-chair team meetings, manage communications, verify deliverable achievement, and prepare governance documentation
• Manage project data in Planisware, direct stakeholder communications, and organize governance committee materials
• Identify project risks, propose mitigation plans, and facilitate design and lifecycle development updates
• Support team formation during early development phases and drive continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 10 years experience, or Master's degree and 8 years experience, or PhD/PharmD and 5 years experience
• 5+ years leading cross-functional project management in pharmaceutical industry
• PMP certification or equivalent project management certification preferred
• Strong knowledge of drug development processes and pharmaceutical project management principles
• Expertise in scope, deliverables, risk, and resource management
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and project tracking tools such as Planisware
• Leadership presence with ability to translate strategy into action and lead without direct authority

Compensation: $195,670.00 - $253,220.00 base
