Server/Food Runner

Il Fornaio Cucina Italiana is hiring knowledgeable, experienced, service-oriented dining room Servers/Food Runners. Experience in a full-service restaurant is needed. As a server and runner, you'll wow our guests with outstanding service and hospitality. RBs (Responsible Beverage Service) certificated required for CA locations. Foodhandler Card required. What we’re looking for: Applicants willing to begin as a food runner before being promoted to a server Must be available for a minimum of 2 lunch shifts with 1 day being a weekday Must be available all weekends and holidays Excellent communication, hospitality, interpersonal and math skills Skilled at reading the table and can anticipate your guests’ needs Team player; you’re always willing to give and ask for help At least six months of experience as a server in a full-service restaurant Ability to make guest recommendations through knowledge of spirits, cocktails, wine, beer and a la carte food service, serving full menu and bar including wine and specialty cocktails Communicating orders clearly with the bar staff and kitchen Continuous table maintenance Delivering drinks and food correctly and efficiently, closing out checks and reconciling cash in a timely fashion Adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines, maintaining a positive teamwork attitude Communicating clearly, professionally, and respectfully, monitoring guest satisfaction Having a flexible work schedule including weekend availability Able to lift up to 35 lbs., and continuously bend, reach and twist; you’re constantly on the move!
