A successful BDE acts as the primary liaison between the restoration company and key stakeholders, including insurance carriers, property managers, adjusters, and commercial facility owners. The primary objective is to secure a steady stream of referral business and formal service agreements that guarantee priority response and revenue generation. Key Responsibilities Negotiate and execute formal service agreements, including Emergency Response Agreements (ERAs), Master Service Agreements (MSAs), and Contingency Plans, ensuring the restoration company is the priority responder. Educate property owners and facility managers on proactive disaster planning, highlighting benefits such as priority response times, pre‑approved pricing, and minimized business disruption. Manage the entire sales pipeline, from prospecting to contract execution, using CRM software (Dash, Salesforce, or specialized restoration CRMs) to maintain accurate client notes, track lead progress, and log networking activities. Submit detailed weekly activity reports outlining visits, meetings, and progress toward revenue goals. Serve as the primary account manager after agreement signing, bridging the client with internal operations and estimating teams to ensure satisfaction and repeat business. Summary of Core Competencies B2B Sales Expertise : Proven ability to navigate long sales cycles, negotiate contracts, and close deals with commercial entities and insurance carriers. Industry Knowledge : Understanding of property damage restoration processes, construction terminology, and estimating software (e.g., Xactimate). Strategic Planning : Capability to develop geographic routing plans, target high‑value verticals, and create actionable business development strategies. Interpersonal Skills : Exceptional communication, relationship‑building, and conflict‑resolution skills to inspire loyalty and trust among referral partners. Position Requirements Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business or equivalent experience preferred. A minimum of 5 years of direct sales experience. Strong process and results‑driven attitude. Experience in the cleaning, restoration, or insurance industry is preferred.
