This Warren location will serve as our home base while we build our permanent facility in Youngstown, OH. Over the next year, we'll be hiring and training new Employee Owners who will help us establish our team in Warren and prepare for the transition to our new Youngstown facility once construction is complete.Headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan since 1955, Lumbermen's operates in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and Minnesota. We are employee owned and relationship powered.The Operations Manager will be required to travel to various Lumbermen's locations within their first 6 months to learn from our current distribution centers. They will learn how to receive, pull, and load James Hardie and other materials.The Operations Manager will work in our Youngstown, OH location to help lead our warehouse team in working alongside our suppliers, customers, and sales team to deliver superior products in our building materials segment. The primary responsibilities for this position include:Modeling and communicating Lumbermen's mission, vision, and promise to all employee ownersProviding overall leadership and direction for the Youngstown and Warren divisionRecruiting, hiring, training and developing an exceptional teamSetting operational goals, tracking progress, and making necessary changes to meet those goalsManaging, providing ongoing feedback to, and facilitating performance check ins for all Youngstown division employee ownersMonitoring key operational performance measures such as: service quality, expense budgets, adherence to labor budgets, and other productivity measuresAnalyzing capital expenditures and preparing expenditure justificationsManaging divisional P & L and working to improve efficiency and increase revenueEnsuring compliance with safety/OSHA/DOT regulationsOverseeing fleet maintenance in conjunction with transportation teamDrive and model Lumbermen's Safety Program and initiatives to ensure employee owner safetySourcing, coordinating, and facilitating building and ground maintenance, utility, and packaging supplies for the Youngstown and Warren DivisionEnsuring compliance with corporate policies and proceduresModeling and leading a culture of continuous improvement using lean principles and encouraging the sharing of ideas and suggestionsActing as a process improvement championThis position will start in Warren, OH and then move to our location in Youngstown, OH once the building has been built.At Lumbermen's, we pride ourselves on treating our customers like family and delivering exceptional service.
