Shipping and Receiving Team Member - Porter Corp

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for quality of product before final shipment
• Continuous improvement in support of department and company goals
• Supports, participates and encourages team building
• Provides feedback, both positive and negative, to the team, other related departments and the supervisor
• Promotes a positive work environment
• Follow all of Porter Corp's procedures and policies
• Work safely and efficiently
• Stay customer focused
• Periodic deliveries and pick ups
• Able to lift 50 pounds
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Help other departments as needed

Education and/or Experience

• This position requires knowledge of product packaging methods to ensure safe and secure shipments to meet customer requirements
• Working knowledge of flatbed packing for safe loads
• Flexibility with scheduled hours to accommodate shipping and receiving needs
• Work requires high school diploma or equivalent

Travel

This position requires minimal to no travel

Computer Skills

• Basic computer skills
• Demonstrated proficiency using EPICOR ERP or similar systems

Other Requirements

• Good communication skills
• CDL or willing to obtain CDL
• Very good interpersonal skills
• Must be open-minded to new ideas and concepts
• Possesses very good problem-solving skills
• Must be self-motivated and results oriented
• Able to read and interpret blueprints and other written documents

Other Skills

• Safe and efficient packaging of finished goods to minimize damage
• Accuracy and completeness of packaged goods shipped to customer
