Our client in the medical equipment industry is seeking a Payroll Manager to oversee high-volume, multi-state payroll operations on a CONTRACT basis. This role serves as a key liaison between Finance and Human Resources, ensuring accurate payroll processing, compliance with payroll tax regulations and labor laws, and resolution of employee payroll inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for a large, multi-state workforce on a weekly and/or bi-weekly basis.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws, tax regulations, and company policies.
• Audit and verify timekeeping records, pay adjustments, deductions, and tax withholdings.
• Maintain payroll system accuracy and support HRIS data integration, including benefits, garnishments, and new hire information.
• Serve as the primary contact for payroll-related questions and issue resolution.
• Prepare payroll reports, support audits, and identify process improvement opportunities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of payroll management or combined HR/Payroll experience.
• Experience processing high-volume payroll for large organizations.
• Hands-on experience with ADP.
• Strong knowledge of payroll tax compliance and employment laws.
• Proficiency with HRIS platforms and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical abilities, and communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
