Bring your passion and expertise in supporting students with visual impairments to an educational community near Richmond, TX. This contract opportunity is perfect for a skilled Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) ready to step into a meaningful caseload due to a retirement this December. Your role will make a direct impact as you provide specialized instruction and advocacy for students, ensuring they thrive academically and personally.
What we’re looking for:
- Active licensure that meets Texas TVI standards
- Experience providing direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments
- Confidence working independently, managing a full caseload without Para support
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with educators, families, and other professionals
- Comfort working onsite; open to hybrid models, but in-person presence is preferred
- Flexibility to work up to 35 hours per week, or part-time as suits your schedule
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering individualized instruction and tailored materials to meet each student’s needs
- Collaborating with classroom teachers and staff to adapt curriculum and learning environments
- Developing, implementing, and monitoring IEPs for students on your caseload
- Providing orientation and mobility strategies, as well as daily living skills support
- Advocating for students' access to resources and equal opportunities within the school
- Communicating progress and strategies to families and multidisciplinary teams
