A unique opportunity awaits experienced Teachers for the Visually Impaired (TVI) in the Richmond, TX area. This contract position involves taking over the established caseload of a retiring TVI, providing essential educational services in a well-supported school environment. Preference is given to professionals who can be onsite, but there is potential for a hybrid schedule, and hours are flexible—full-time (35 per week) or part-time arrangements will be considered depending on your availability.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid licensure meeting Texas TVI standards is required.
• Background in teaching students with visual impairments within K-12 settings.
• Ability to independently manage a diverse student caseload.
• Strong collaboration skills for working with students, staff, and families.
• Comfort with onsite service delivery; openness to occasional hybrid work where feasible.
• Flexibility to adapt to the specific scheduling needs.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and consultative instructional support to students who are blind or visually impaired.
• Assess student needs and develop Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals aligned with current standards.
• Collaborate with general and special education teachers, related service providers, and families to maximize student success.
• Advocate for accessibility tools and accommodations within mainstream educational settings.
• Maintain progress reports, document services, and participate in required meetings.
• Take a proactive role in supporting student independence and learning outcomes.
