You will be responsible for managing the flow of projects by overseeing estimating, material procurement, production timelines, fabrication, and the logistics required for steel erection to ensure a seamless transition from design to completion. Core Duties Analyze and translate fabrication, erection, and structural construction blueprints. Support the team by helping calculate project costs and estimates. Oversee the successful execution of projects from the point of drawing approval through to final shipment. Evaluate project plans to ensure optimal constructability, connection integrity, and field installation efficiency. Align fabrication workflows with overall project and erection milestones. Identify and calculate the specific material needs for upcoming production runs. Manage the procurement process for structural steel and necessary project supplies. Generate and manage purchase orders while maintaining vendor relationships. Track material lead times to help the team avoid production bottlenecks. Facilitate communication between internal departments, including detailing, production, purchasing, and shipping. Set and track project schedules to ensure production priorities are met. Monitor fabrication output to ensure projects stay on schedule. Resolve issues related to drawings, materials, or scheduling to keep the project on track. Ensure that components are fabricated and delivered in the correct order to improve field installation efficiency. Manage the logistics and scheduling for the delivery of finished steel products. Keep project documentation updated using ERP software and Excel. Act as the primary point of contact for contractors, clients, and project partners. Professional Requirements Proven background in steel erection, fabrication, or structural steel work is mandatory. Deep understanding of the entire lifecycle of structural steel fabrication and installation. Expertise in interpreting complex structural and fabrication blueprints. Comprehensive knowledge of steel materials, industry terminology, and connection methods. Familiarity with the sequencing and shipping requirements for field erection. Background in project management or coordination within the commercial construction or steel manufacturing sectors. Prior experience with project estimation is highly desired. Experience in material planning or procurement is considered a plus. Demonstrated ability to manage production schedules and hit project deadlines. Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel. Experience with manufacturing or ERP software is preferred. Strong organizational capabilities to handle multiple concurrent projects effectively.
