About the Role

We are seeking a Production Machining CNC Set-Up / Operator to join our Manufacturing team. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and supporting CNC machining equipment while ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety standards are consistently met.

The ideal candidate will have machining experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work from blueprints, models, and engineering drawings. This role offers an opportunity to work with a variety of CNC equipment while supporting production goals in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform CNC machine setup, including program retrieval, tooling installation, fixture setup, and machine adjustments for first-part production runs.
• Operate CNC lathes, milling machines, and other machining equipment.
• Load and unload metal workpieces into fixtures manually and repetitively throughout the shift.
• Produce quality parts while maintaining production efficiency standards.
• Work from blueprints, sketches, engineering drawings, and solid models to create or modify machining programs.
• Understand and perform machine startup and shutdown procedures.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and assist with minor repairs as required.
• Inspect machined products to ensure quality standards and specifications are met.
• Identify and report defective materials, process concerns, or equipment issues to Production Leadership.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Support additional production tasks as needed to meet business and customer requirements.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Completion of a machining apprenticeship program or equivalent on-the-job training preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of machining, CNC setup, or machine shop experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
• Experience setting up and operating CNC machining equipment.
• Basic understanding of machining programs, tooling, fixtures, and machine operations.
• Ability to use measuring instruments and perform quality inspections.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to workplace safety and manufacturing best practices.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Ability to bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive physical tasks.
• Ability to safely operate machinery and equipment in a manufacturing environment.

Work Environment

• Manufacturing and industrial environment.
• Regular exposure to machinery, moving mechanical equipment, elevated noise levels, sharp objects, metal materials, and vibration.
• Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as applicable.
