Concrete Finisher
This role focuses on commercial concrete flatwork for small to mid-sized buildings in the Kansas City metro area, including work on multi-family homes and curb projects. You will perform professional concrete finishing and carpentry tasks while helping ensure projects are completed efficiently, profitably, and to a high standard of quality.
Responsibilities
- Review and understand project details, including budgeted man-hours and task allocations, to plan work effectively.
- Maximize project profitability by completing assigned tasks efficiently, diligently, and with minimal rework.
- Smooth, level, and finish freshly poured concrete for commercial flatwork and multi-family home projects.
- Perform commercial concrete finishing and carpentry work, ensuring a professional finish from day one.
- Install, repair, and erect fixtures made of wood as part of concrete carpentry and related construction tasks.
- Complete curb work and related concrete tasks, including curbs and gutters, in accordance with project specifications.
- Apply strong leadership skills on site to support productivity, quality, and safe work practices.
- Estimate concrete and carpentry projects accurately to support bidding, planning, and scheduling.
- Use appropriate tools and equipment correctly and safely to perform concrete finishing and carpentry tasks.
- Maintain a strong focus on customer service, profitability, quality, integrity, teamwork, innovation, and opportunity in daily work.
Essential Skills
- At least 5 years of experience finishing concrete or performing concrete carpentry in commercial settings.
- Proficiency in commercial concrete finishing, including smoothing, leveling, and professional finishing of freshly poured concrete.
- Hands-on experience with concrete carpentry, including installing, repairing, and erecting wood fixtures.
- Ability to perform curb work and related tasks involving curbs and gutters.
- Strong leadership skills to guide work on site and contribute to a high-performing team.
- Ability to estimate concrete and carpentry projects accurately.
- Solid knowledge of concrete finishing and carpentry tools and their proper use.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working on multi-family homes and small to mid-sized commercial new builds.
- Background in electrical or mechanical aspects of construction is beneficial.

Work Environment

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lees Summit, MO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
