Financial Services Analyst

Role Summary

Provides financial operations, reporting, and analytical support for the Technology Financial Portfolio Management function. Analysts may specialize in CapEx, OpEx, System Resiliency Plan (SRP), invoicing, forecasting, reporting, asset accounting, contractor financials, or other financial services functions. Supports all Financial Portfolio Management Leads by providing accurate financial information, analysis, and operational execution.

Key Responsibilities

Execute assigned financial services processes and operational activities.

Gather, validate, analyze, and maintain financial and operational data.

Prepare forecasts, reconciliations, accruals, reports, and financial analyses.

Support annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and five-year planning activities.

Assist with demand planning financial analysis and resource planning support.

Support CWIP monitoring, project placements in service, capitalization activities, and asset retirements.

Maintain financial records and documentation supporting audits and SOX controls.

Communicate with stakeholders to collect information, resolve issues, and explain financial results.

Develop insights and recommendations from financial and operational data.

Support reporting and information requests for all Financial Portfolio Management Leads.

Confirm and abide by all procedures, policies and regulatory guidance.

Perform other duties as assigned

Deliverables

Monthly accruals, reconciliations, and financial close support.

Forecast updates and budget planning support materials.

Financial reports, dashboards, and variance analyses.

Demand planning and resource planning financial analyses.

CWIP tracking reports and in-service documentation.

Asset retirement records and supporting analyses.

Invoice processing and payment tracking reports.

SRP, CapEx, OpEx, labor, or contractor financial reporting.

Audit support packages and SOX control documentation.

Ad hoc analyses, data requests, and executive support materials.

Preferred Skills

Financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

Accounting principles, capitalization policies, depreciation, and asset management.

Understanding of Technology projects, applications, and operational processes.

Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to translate data into meaningful business insights and recommendations.

Experience with financial, reporting, portfolio, and asset management tools.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.

Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Required Qualifications

2+ years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, financial operations, budgeting, reporting, or related disciplines.

Experience working with large data sets and performing quantitative analysis.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
