Ophthalmology Research Faculty

Overview The Department of Ophthalmology at UT Southwestern Medical Center is expanding our research faculty. We seek an applicant with an established track record of sustained NEI/NIH funding, as a PI on one or more R01 research grants. Candidates must hold a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent, and are expected to maintain extramural funding that may be supplemented by a significant departmental endowment and research funds. Responsibilities and Qualifications Demonstrated ability to secure and maintain extramural funding (NEI/NIH) as a principal investigator on R01 grants. Hold a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree. Ability and willingness to collaborate with other faculty working on the pathobiology of retinal degeneration (e.g., AMD), ocular surface diseases, corneal diseases and cell biology, ocular immunology and inflammation, and ocular infectious disease. Appointment may be less than full-time; joint appointment in a basic science department may be considered. This is a tenure-track appointment.
