Garner Construction Group is looking for an organized, friendly person to help keep our sales team running smoothly. In our business, the faster we get back to people, the more likely we are to win the job. Your main job is to make sure no call, message, or lead slips through the cracks — you answer the phone, figure out whether a project is a good fit, get people on the calendar quickly, and stay with each customer from their very first call all the way through the end of their project.

This isn't a cold-calling or commission sales job. It's a support role, and it's a big one. You're the first person a customer talks to and the last person who checks in with them. You'll also be the one keeping track of our weekly numbers for leadership, so being comfortable with a spreadsheet matters as much as being good on the phone. If you like having a system, juggling a few things at once, and being part of a team, you'll fit right in.

Duties :

Answering and Responding

• Answer incoming calls (around 40 a week) and be friendly and helpful on the phone. This is the most important part of the job.
• Reply to email and Facebook/Meta leads within about 5–10 minutes during business hours. Reach out by both phone and email so nobody is left waiting.
• Keep the sales inbox sorted — answer what you can, pass along what you can't, and keep the junk cleared out.

Qualifying and Booking Consultations

• Talk with each prospect to find out what they want to do, why they want to do it, their timeline, their budget, and where the property is.
• Help people understand what building actually costs today by walking them through general price ranges, so there are no surprises later.
• Use good judgment. If a project or a person isn't the right fit for us, it's okay to say so.
• Book the free consultation, collect their info, and get everything entered accurately into our scheduling system — rep, time, address, project type, timeline, zoning, and notes.

Getting Ready for the Consultation

• Do a little homework ahead of time on projects that need it — look up zoning and setbacks on the county GIS map and check the property layout, then write up what you find in the notes.
• Make confirmation calls Monday mornings for that week's consultations, and mark the calendar so the consultant can see at a glance who's confirmed.

Following Up

• Work through the follow-up list.
• Keep in touch with people whose projects are further out so they don't get forgotten.
• Loop in the consultant when a question comes up that's above your pay grade.

Once a Job Is Signed

• Kick off the pre-closing checklist and work with the consultant to complete it.
• Get the project manager and designer lined up, then schedule the internal pre-closing meeting and the closing meeting with the customer.

After the Project

• Send the completion survey and check back in with the customer every few months for their first year, to make sure everything is holding up.
• When a warranty call comes in, get it logged & passed off to the appropriate team members.

Weekly Reporting

• Help gather key data points for internal reporting.
• This means working comfortably with numbers and keeping clean, accurate records all week so Friday isn't a scramble.

Odds and Ends

• Over time, we'd like this role to grow into helping prep estimates for the sales team, and eventually writing them for smaller, routine jobs like bathrooms and kitchens. We'll build that together — it's not something you need to walk in the door doing.
• Pitch in on other things the sales team needs from time to time.

• Comfortable with numbers. You can track dollar amounts and percentages and put together a weekly report without dreading it.
• Willing to ask direct questions about budget and timeline, and to say when something isn't a fit.
• Clear communicator, both talking and in writing.
• Good with computers and quick to pick up new software.
• Good at juggling a few things at once and following through without being chased.
• A team player who takes ownership and does what it takes.
• Dependable, with steady hours you can count on.

Tools You'll Use

We'll train you on all of these, but any experience is a plus: our CRM, CoConstruct, RingCentral, Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets), SurveyMonkey, and county GIS mapping sites.

Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Some background in sales support, scheduling, customer service, or office coordination is helpful.
• Experience in construction, remodeling, or another service business is a nice bonus but not required.
• Comfortable working in spreadsheets and software systems.

Hours & Where You'll Work

• In our office, generally 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
• There may be some flexibility for the right person, but this is not a remote job.

Physical Requirements

• Mostly an in-office role.
• You might occasionally head out to a job site or a customer meeting.
• Valid driver's license required.
