Incoming Quality Control Inspector

Job Title

This position involves inspecting various assemblies, sub-assemblies, final assemblies, and installations of machine parts, forgings, stampings, and sheet metal forming to ensure proper material quality, machining dimensions, and functional usability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Under general supervision, the candidate must be able to perform a variety of duties, including but not limited to:

• Conducting inspection layout and first article inspection on machined parts, forgings, stampings, and sheet metal forms to determine conformance to proper dimensions.
• Inspecting all types of assemblies, sub-assemblies, final assemblies, and installations.
• Recording all inspection data and completing acceptance test procedures.
• Re-inspecting rework to meet requirements.
• Performing progressive and final inspection of components involving numerous precision tolerances, dimensions, and angles using precision measuring instruments where no inspection jigs or fixtures are available.
• Stamping or otherwise approving acceptable parts and preparing necessary paperwork.
• Ordering rejections and rework.
• Preparing rejection tags, inspection rework sheets, and properly recording all data according to quality control procedures.
• Informing the supervisor of all rejections.
• Setting up and operating precision measuring instruments and gauges, and performing all general inspection of equipment.
• Assisting and instructing junior personnel in all phases of quality control operations.
• Performing re-inspection or other duties where work operations are essentially the same or of a less difficult nature.
• Following all company policies and procedures.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree.
• 3-5 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
