Job PostingNo nights, no weekends, and no on-call!Position Summary:Provide assistance to the clinical team with vascular procedures within the vascular center. As a member of our team, you will interact with patients, physicians and dialysis facilities as part of our community educational program and also participate in other educational outreach initiatives.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Prepares and positions patient for diagnostic imaging proceduresPerforms ultrasound imaging and related procedures in all areas of ultrasoundExercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintain a demeanor complementary to medical ethicsAdjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of body requested by physicianExplains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperationMoves imaging equipment into specified position, determines exposure factors on basis of height, weight, portion of body involved, and degree of penetration required, and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors and produce images of proper detail, density, and accuracyPractices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staffPerforms specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures, including nuclear medicine and sonographyAssists radiologist in fluoroscopic and special x-ray examinationsPrepares images for reading by radiologist or requesting physicianPerforms routine maintenance, diagnoses malfunctions, and makes minor repairs on radiologic equipment, arranging for repairs as neededCompletes forms and maintains records, logs and reports of work performedMonitors patients during procedures, operating a C-Arm (within the scope of practice)Prepares equipment which includes cleaning and sterilizing instruments, maintain inventory of medical suppliesQualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
