Medical Assistant

Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant will provide clinical and administrative support in a bilingual (Spanish and English) medical setting. This role involves assisting healthcare providers with patient care, managing medical records, and performing various clinical tasks. The Medical Assistant is expected to collaborate effectively within the care team, ensure accurate documentation, and maintain compliance with healthcare standards. A minimum of 2 years of experience and relevant certification are required. Responsibilities:

• Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
• Perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, preparing patients, and administering medications or injections as directed.
• Manage patient records and document clinical information accurately in electronic health record systems.
• Communicate effectively with patients in both Spanish and English to provide instructions and support.
• Support office administrative tasks including scheduling, charting, and maintaining medical supplies.
• Float within the facility as required to meet operational needs.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Fluent in Spanish and English.
• Medical Assistant certification from one of the following: AAMA, AMT, NHA, ARMA, NCCT, NRCMA.
• BLS certification.
• Associate's Degree or Diploma in Medical Assisting (transcripts required prior to start) or 5 years of MA experience with certification.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant medical assistant experience preferred.
• Ability to work within 75 miles of the facility (locals only).

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience with Cerner electronic health record system.
• Prior experience in a clinical setting with diverse patient populations.

Special Considerations:

• No call requirements.
• Floating within the scope of practice is mandatory as per facility discretion.
• No return to office (RTO) within the first 4-5 weeks is prioritized; maximum 5 days off with no more than 2 consecutive days.
• No RTO on holidays, the day before or after holidays, and weekends.
• Limited parking available; public transit recommended.

Scheduling:

• 40 hours per week.
• Shift schedule: Monday to Thursday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM; Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
