Location: Houston, TX
Type: Contract
Duration: 42 Weeks
Shift & Schedule: Day Shift (5x7.5 Hours) | 7:00 AM – 2:30 PM | 37.5 Guaranteed Hours Per Week
Pay Rate: $40 - $46/hr (Based on Experience)

Position Overview:

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant – School-Based for an exciting Contract opportunity in Houston, TX.

Responsibilities

• Assist Speech-Language Pathologists in implementing speech and language therapy programs for middle and high school students.

• Provide direct therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.

• Communicate effectively with students using American Sign Language (ASL).

• Support students with speech, language, communication, and hearing-related needs.

• Document therapy sessions, student progress, and treatment outcomes accurately and timely.

• Assist with classroom observations, screenings, and preparation of therapy materials.

• Collaborate with Speech-Language Pathologists, teachers, special education staff, and families to support student success.

• Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines regarding therapy services and documentation.

• Participate in team meetings and contribute to student progress discussions.

• Support a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for students.

Required Qualifications

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with the ability to hold fluent conversations required.

• Current Texas Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant License or actively pursuing Texas licensure required.

• Knowledge of speech and language disorders, therapy techniques, and educational service delivery models.

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

• Ability to work effectively with middle school and high school students.

• Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary educational team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous school-based experience as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant preferred.

• Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing preferred.

• Familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and special education services preferred.

• Experience supporting diverse student populations preferred.
