Clinical Nurse I Med/Surg, part time, nights Apply locations 43 New Scotland Avenue Albany, NY 12208 Job details Type: Part time Posted on: Yesterday Requisition ID: 65916 Department/Unit: Medical/Surgical Hospitalist - E3 Work Shift: Night (United States of America) Salary Range: $68,640.00 - $70,699.20 Job Description: The Registered Professional Nurse assesses, coordinates, plans, directs, implements, and manages the needs of assigned patients throughout the episode of care with a focus on progress toward discharge, including during transitions within the acute care stay. The nurse is responsible for the delivery and coordination of patient care provided by the caregiving team, ensuring competent, compassionate care for patients, referring facilities, and hospital staff in inpatient, ambulatory, and community settings. Implements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs, performs treatments, procedures, and special tests, and documents treatment as required by policy and regulations. Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions. Assesses and evaluates patient needs and responses to care. Uses sound nursing judgment in patient care decisions. Provides primary and emergency care for injuries and illnesses. Administers OTC and prescription medications as ordered. Collaborates with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care. Directs and guides ancillary personnel and maintains professional standards. Minimum Qualifications: Graduate of a professional nursing program (Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate Degree). Current NYS Registered Nurse license. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); additional certifications may be required by department. Previous experience as a PCA or nursing assistant preferred. Commitment to continuing education to improve job performance. Knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools, with ability to apply in practice.
