Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Infusion RN with oncology and hematology expertise for a 13-week assignment requiring prior travel experience.

Details

• Work in the Infusion unit, primarily at Taubman Center with potential travel to Rogel Cancer Center or CW BMT infusion
• Patient population includes hematology, oncology, benign hematology, gynecology/OB, and non-oncology cases
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• No weekend shifts required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required based on facility needs
• Uses CADD pumps and syringe pumps
• Documentation completed in EPIC/MiChart

Requirements

• Active Michigan (MI) RN license required at time of submission; compact licenses not accepted
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Experience with IV therapy/infusions and accessing/managing ports required
• Skilled in infusion pump management
• Experience administering chemotherapy, including IV push and continuous infusion methods
• Ability to monitor chemotherapy and recognize/communicate abnormal lab values
• Knowledge of oncologic emergencies including anaphylaxis and extravasation injury
• Experience caring for patients with various cancer types (e.g., breast, lung, leukemia, lymphoma)
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Two supervisory references required (charge nurse references not accepted)

Additional Information

• Provide infusion therapy and chemotherapy administration to oncology and hematology patients
• Administer blood and blood products, coagulation factors, and manage central lines as needed
• Monitor for and manage chemotherapy side effects and oncologic emergencies
• Support patient and family education throughout treatment
• Flu vaccination required starting 10/31/26 through Winter 2027 with no exemptions; allergy-free option available if needed
• All required certifications must be obtained prior to start date
• All requested RTO must be submitted upfront; no RTO permitted during the first week of assignment
• Local candidates accepted at the travel rate
• Former permanent employees may return as travelers after one year of separation
• Candidates employed by the client facility within the last 12 months are not eligible to apply
• Traveler pairs are not accepted
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
