Infusion Registered Nurse

Responsibilities The Infusion Registered Nurse is accountable for the delivery of direct patient care, including patient education and the management of chemotherapy, biotherapy and immunotherapy administration. The Registered Nurse (RN) supports professional nursing practice across practice settings and across the continuum of care to meet the needs of the patient and family; assesses the needs of the patient undergoing infusion treatment; plans, implements, and evaluates patient care; and teaches patients, families, orients colleagues and peers. The RN administers injections, IV hydration, blood products, and chemotherapy, biotherapy and immunotherapy.

Required Qualifications

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse to practice in the State of Michigan Two (2) years or more of RN experience Two (2) or more years of recent (within the last three (3) years) RN experience administering chemotherapy, biotherapy and Immunotherapy Two (2) or more years of recent (within the last three (3) years) hematology/oncology RN experience NOTE: In order to be considered for this position the applicant must have met or will have met all the required qualifications prior to the start date of employment

Desired Qualifications

BSN Recent Ambulatory Care Experience Demonstrated ability to start IVs Certification by Oncology Certified Nurse- (OCN), Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (CRNI) Experience with electronic medical records, specifically EPIC. Computer/typing skills such as Microsoft Word and Excel

Salary & Nursing Framework Level This UMPNC RN posting is posted as Nursing Framework LEVEL C. Actual Nursing Framework LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire. Work Schedule Hours: 36hrs/week (0.9) Shift: Day/Evenings, variable days of the week. This position includes weekends and some holidays. Variable shift lengths. Flexibility is required. The standard hours of operation for the Cancer Center Infusion Center are Monday through Friday 7:30am - 8:30pm and Saturday 7:30am - 6pm, with extended hours for continued patient care. Location and home unit is the Rogel Cancer Center All new employees will be expected to float to a designated unit(s) in times of low census.
