What You'll Do
HR Leadership & Strategy
- Partner with leadership to align HR initiatives with organizational goals
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging workplace culture
- Develop and implement HR policies, programs, and best practices
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws (EEO, ADA, FMLA, OSHA, etc.)
- Monitor regulatory changes and advise leadership accordingly
- Investigate employee concerns and provide recommendations
Human Resources Operations
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and retention
- Manage HR systems (HRIS), employee records, and payroll coordination
- Maintain organizational charts and employee directory
Talent Acquisition & Development
- Lead recruitment efforts from job posting through hiring
- Manage onboarding, orientation, and offboarding processes
- Coordinate training, professional development, and succession planning
Performance & Employee Relations
- Design and administer performance evaluation processes
- Provide coaching and support to employees and supervisors
- Promote employee engagement and a positive work environment
Compensation & Benefits
- Administer compensation programs and benefits
- Support payroll budgeting and HR financial tracking
- Oversee benefits enrollment and vendor coordination
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Public Administration, or related field
- 4+ years of HR experience
- Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications
- SHRM-CP or similar certification
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems
- Background in local government
