Health Information Technician

Managing requests for medical record information, the full-time Release of Information Technician will provide prompt and courteous service in a fast-paced, remote environment while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintaining the confidentiality of patient information. Key responsibilities Process requests for medical records efficiently while adhering to established timeline standards Interpret and apply relevant state and federal laws, HIPAA regulations, and enterprise policies regarding the release of information Safeguard patient privacy by ensuring only authorized individuals access medical information and maintain strict confidentiality Required qualifications Associate's degree in a Health Information Management (HIM) related field or two years of equivalent work experience Prior experience in a HIM department related to record maintenance or release of information is preferred Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification is preferred Proficiency in keyboarding is required
