In this role, you'll be responsible for the total cleanliness and appearance of the store inside and out, keeping equipment maintained and ensuring a positive environment for customers and employees alike.If you take pride in a job well done, enjoy staying active, and want to be part of a team that keeps things running smoothly, we'd love to have you on board.**What You'll Do**No two shifts are exactly the same, but here's what you can expect:* Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile, learning their names, and going out of your way to make every interaction a positive one* Maintain total store cleanliness and appearance inside and out, including sweeping, mopping, waxing, buffing, vacuuming, power washing, scrubbing, dusting, shampooing carpets, and sanitizing* Change ceiling lights and install or replace towel, paper, and soap dispensers as needed* Monitor plumbing, fixtures, coolers, and freezers and notify supervisors of any issues* Empty garbage and crush cardboard throughout your shift* Unclog drains as needed and perform routine equipment maintenance* Clean cooling systems and filters for the store* Order cleaning products as needed and audit invoices for correctness where applicable* Conduct quarterly inventory on products for costs and amounts used* Do price checks, return carts from the parking lot, and sack for customers as needed* Assist in other areas of the store as needed and take on special projects as assigned* Adhere to all Hy-Vee policies and individual store guidelines* Report to work when scheduled and on time**Your Skills**To be successful, you'll need to be able to:* Solve practical problems and interpret instructions across a variety of situations with limited standardization* Add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers accurately* Understand and follow verbal or demonstrated directions and communicate supply needs orally or in writing* Work effectively as part of a team to keep the store clean and running smoothly**Reporting Relationships****Accountable and Reports to:** Store Director; Store Manager; Assistant Managers of Store Operations, Perishables, and Health Wellness Home; Service Managers**Education and Experience*** No education or experience requirements; we will provide all the training you need to succeed**Physical Requirements*** Frequently stand and walk throughout a shift in sales, food service, or delivery areas* Where applicable to the role: ability to safely use sharp knives and blades for food preparation* Where applicable to the role: exposure to heat- and burn-related hazards associated with cooking, baking, or grilling equipment* Where applicable to the role: ability to operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with applicable DOT standards* Perform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with order fulfillment, POS transactions, and cleaning/sanitation duties**Working Environment**This role is performed throughout the store and surrounding exterior areas. You will have regular exposure to noise, temperature extremes, dampness, dirt, and cleaning chemicals or solvents.
