MRI Technologist 

Location: Ascension Via Christi St. Francis – Wichita, KS
Contract Length: 13 Weeks (Potential to Extend)
Schedule: Weekend Days – Friday, Saturday & Sunday | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM (36 hours/week)

Position Overview

Ascension Via Christi St. Francis is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to join its Diagnostic Imaging team at a busy Level I Trauma and Comprehensive Stroke Center . This position is ideal for an MRI Tech who thrives in a fast-paced acute care environment and is confident performing a wide variety of MRI exams on critically ill and complex patient populations.

Weekend MRI Technologists can expect to perform 15–20 MRI exams per shift while working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, anesthesia, and emergency teams to provide exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality MRI examinations while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
• Scan a diverse patient population including:
  • Trauma patients
  • ICU patients
  • Emergency Department patients
  • Inpatients
  • Pediatric patients
  • Geriatric patients
  • Anesthesia/sedated patients
• Follow MRI safety protocols and screening procedures.
• Operate and troubleshoot Siemens and GE MRI systems .
• Collaborate with radiologists, nursing staff, and anesthesia teams to facilitate efficient patient care.
• Maintain accurate documentation and image quality standards.
• Prioritize urgent and emergent imaging studies in a high-volume Level I Trauma environment.

Minimum Qualifications

• ARRT (MR) Registered required
• Current BLS Certification
• Previous acute care hospital MRI experience
• Experience working in a Level I Trauma Center strongly preferred
• Comfortable scanning critically ill, trauma, ICU, ER, pediatric, geriatric, and sedated patients
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Experience

• Experience in a Comprehensive Stroke Center
• Familiarity with Siemens and GE MRI platforms
• Previous travel assignment experience
• Experience with anesthesia-supported MRI procedures
