Registered Nurse (RN)

Join a dynamic neuro telemetry unit with 32 beds, offering innovative care in a fast-paced environment. You will be working with patients with a variety of diagnoses, including trached patients, strokes, traumatic brain injuries, and other neurological conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to neuro telemetry patients.
• Perform patient assessments and monitor vital signs.
• Administer medications, including titrated drips such as Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Insulin.
• Complete SIMs Lab skills assessment for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes.
• Maintain compliance with sterile field procedures and safety standards.
• Assist with lifts, restraints, and wound care, adapting to facility-specific equipment and policies.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families.

Qualifications

• Active RN license required.
• Minimum of 18 months of nursing experience, with Level 1 trauma experience strongly preferred.
• Neuro experience highly preferred.
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS.
• Ability to interpret EKGs and handle central monitoring.
• Experience with patient ratios of 1:4.
• Natural hair color and no facial piercings are required; men must be clean shaven for fit testing.

Work Schedule

Full-time positions available with 12-hour night shifts. The schedule includes a requirement of 4 weekend shifts every 4 weeks, with holidays assigned based on unit coverage.

Additional Information

• Floating to Med/Tele units may be required.
• Orientation includes 2 days on the floor, focusing on specific unit protocols.
• Cancellations may occur, with the possibility of up to 4 shifts cancelled during a 13-week assignment.
• Support from SWAT RNs available for difficult IV access.
• Charting via Cerner electronic medical records.
