Research Lab Technician I

Job Overview A Research Technician position is immediately available in the Hastings Center laboratories of Dr. Yao Wei Lu at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA. The Lu lab focuses on studying the post‑transcriptional regulation of gene expression in cardiovascular development and regeneration, while the Huang lab investigates the mechanisms and fate of stem cells in lung injury and repair. Responsibilities The appointee will assist with general laboratory tasks, including ordering and maintaining stocks of supplies. Excellent data management, record‑keeping, communication, team building, and computer skills are required. The applicant should have basic molecular biology and spreadsheet proficiency, and be prepared to learn more and participate in laboratory research. Compensation The hourly rate range for this position is $22.43 – $23.92. Requirements Minimum Education: High school or equivalent, combined education/experience as a substitute. Minimum Experience: 6–12 months, combined education/experience as a substitute. Minimum Field of Expertise: Ability to follow detailed instructions; oral and written communication. Preferred Education: Associate degree. Preferred Experience: 1–2 years of wet‑lab work, proficiency in animal work, and use of basic laboratory equipment.
