Professional Land Surveyor - Project Manager

Job Description

The Professional Land Surveyor is responsible for overseeing and managing survey technicians, performing boundary, easement, deed, and title reviews, and conducting detailed research at the town, county, and state levels. You will also be responsible for evaluating surveys, field notes, maps, aerial photographs, and other materials to identify potential project constraints and determine the best approach to complete projects on time and within budget. Prepare survey exhibits utilizing field and office data
Draft subdivision, boundary, and easement plats
Compute site plan data for field crew to use on construction stakeout projects
Create surface models and produce elevation contours for topographic surveys
Provide guidance and mentorship to Field Crew

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

A valid Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in the state of Virginia is plus
Field and office experience in land surveying is essential, and attention to detail is a must.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration and the ability to take direction and grow with the company.
Ability to collaborate with drafting managers, design staff, and the operations team will be necessary for providing status updates, discussing challenges, and addressing plan revisions.
Self-motivation, drive, and the ability to work remotely are important for success in this role.
