Associate Attorney

Woodcliff Lake, NJ | Full-Time | On-Site

Experience: 3+ years of law firm experience

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Associate Attorney with 3+ years of experience and a strong background in tax, trusts & estates , complemented by knowledge in business, and real estate law , to join our growing firm. The ideal candidate will be a skilled advocate with a passion for problem-solving and exceptional attention to detail. Litigation experience is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support all phases of litigation, from pleadings through trial
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery demands and responses, and legal memoranda
• Prepare for and participate in hearings, depositions, and mediations
• Develop and execute case strategy and manage workflow with minimal supervision
• Communicate and coordinate directly with opposing counsel, courts, experts, and third parties
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support litigation and advisory matters
• Support tax, trust, estate planning, and estate administration matters as needed
• Provide practical, business-minded advice aligned with client objectives

Desired Qualifications

Required

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Licensed to practice law in New Jersey (active, in good standing); licensure in New York , or eligibility to waive in, is a plus
• 3–5 years of experience at a law firm
• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Strong courtroom presence and advocacy ability
• Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines independently
• Exceptional client service and communication skills

Preferred

• Experience or exposure to tax, trusts & estates, business, and commercial law
• Prior experience with complex litigation and multi-party disputes
• Proven track record drafting substantive legal documents
