Position Overview

Ace Landscaping is seeking a skilled and dependable  Equipment Operator & Mason to join our landscape construction team. This role combines operating construction equipment with performing masonry and hardscape installations. The ideal candidate has experience with site work, excavation, and hardscape installation, and takes pride in producing high-quality work on every job site.

This position plays a key role in completing projects efficiently while maintaining company standards for safety, quality, and professionalism.

General Responsibilities

• Operate equipment such as  skid steers, mini excavators, dingos, plate compactors, and other construction equipment

• Perform  site preparation , including excavation, grading, and base installation

• Assist with  hardscape and masonry installations such as patios, walkways, retaining walls, steps, and stonework

• Set and grade base materials for  pavers and stone installations

• Cut and place  pavers, block, and natural stone

• Assist with  concrete work, mortar mixing, and masonry repairs

• Load, unload, and transport materials and tools safely

• Work closely with the  Foreman and crew members to complete projects efficiently

• Maintain clean and organized job sites

• Follow company  safety procedures and quality standards

General Accountabilities

• Safely operate and maintain company equipment

• Produce high-quality masonry and hardscape work

• Maintain productivity while ensuring accuracy and attention to detail

• Keep equipment, tools, and work areas clean and organized

• Communicate with the foreman regarding job progress or issues

• Represent the company professionally on job sites

Qualifications

• Experience operating  construction or landscape equipment

• Experience with  masonry or hardscape installation

• Ability to read basic measurements and layout plans

• Ability to perform  physical labor in outdoor environments

• Ability to lift 50+ pounds

• Valid  Driver’s License 

• Strong work ethic and reliability

• Ability to work well as part of a team

Preferred Skills

• Experience with  paver patios, retaining walls, and stonework

• Knowledge of  grading, base preparation, and compaction

• Experience operating  mini excavators and skid steers

• Familiarity with  laser levels, screeds, and layout tools
