About the Position

Job Title: Respiratory Therapist - NICU Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT-NICU Duration: 13 weeks or 26 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a Level 4 NICU. License: State license required (VA license pending accepted if temp license obtained). Certifications: BLS, NRP, RRT required. Must-Have: Level 4 NICU experience and ideally cardiac PICU experience. Description: We are seeking a qualified Respiratory Therapist to provide care in the NICU. The role involves working with neonates, infants, and pediatric patients. Successful candidates will be involved in high-risk deliveries and acute care pediatrics. The Respiratory Therapist will engage in a multidisciplinary team environment. Strong communication and critical thinking skills are essential. The therapist will be required to work in various units as needed. Experience with specialized equipment such as the Bunnell Jet Ventilator and high frequency oscillatory ventilators is required. Candidates must be able to provide respiratory care services to a diverse patient population. The position includes working weekends and holidays as scheduled. The unit operates on a self-scheduling model, and while desired schedules cannot be guaranteed, efforts will be made to accommodate preferences.
