About the Position

Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT-NICU Duration: 13 weeks (Travel Position) Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (07:00 - 19:00) Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required, including level 4 NICU experience. Cardiac PICU experience preferred. License: Must possess a current state license. Pending licenses accepted if a temporary license can be obtained before start. Certifications: BLS, NRP required. RRT certification required. PALS preferred. Must-Have: Must have level 4 NICU experience. Cardiac PICU experience preferred. Candidates should be competent in caring for patients in the NICU, PICU, high-risk deliveries, and acute care pediatrics. Strong communication and critical thinking skills are essential. Experience working in a multidisciplinary team is necessary. Must be comfortable floating within scope of practice as needed. Description: This position requires working in a children’s hospital environment. The Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for providing care to patients in the neonatal intensive care unit, pediatric intensive care unit, and pediatric acute care. Special procedures and competency in operating complex respiratory equipment are required. Candidates must have experience with various respiratory interventions and treatments. The role requires participation in weekend rotations, every other holiday, and a self-scheduling model that may not guarantee a preferred schedule. Competency in using both the Bunnell Jet Ventilator and HFOV 3100A is a must. Candidates will work closely with an interdisciplinary team and provide high-quality care to infants and children. The daily census includes various pediatric age groups, necessitating adaptability and a broad skill set. Candidates must also be familiar with emergency procedures and able to respond effectively in high-stress situations. Experience with respiratory distress syndrome, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, and other pediatric conditions is advantageous. Overall, this role calls for dedication to improving patient outcomes and working collaboratively in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
