About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified SICU RN in New Orleans, Louisiana, 70121!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Surgical Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty required License: State nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: High acuity ICU experience required Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy required Epic experience preferred Description: The role involves caring for high acuity surgical patients. The patient ratio is 1:2. Willingness to float to other ICUs and specialty units is necessary. Experience with pulmonary artery catheters and intra-aortic balloon pumps is preferred. No block scheduling requests are accepted. The position requires skills in post-operative management for cardiac and transplant patients. You will be expected to handle duties related to the care of ventilated patients and the management of complex medical cases. Knowledge of infection prevention, management of dysrhythmias, and interpretation of arterial blood gases is essential. You will care for patients recovering from liver, heart, lung, kidney, and pancreas transplants. Caring for patients during events such as emergency responses may be required. Applicants should not apply if they are uncomfortable with emergency response expectations. Maintaining compliance with health protocols and certifications is a requirement. Flexibility regarding weekend coverage is essential.
