Mechanical AssemblerThis role focuses on assembling components for construction, crushing, and mining heavy equipment and machinery using hand and power tools. You will work from assembly manuals, schematics, and blueprints to build subassemblies, hydraulic systems, hose kits, tracks, and conveyor installations with a strong emphasis on accuracy and mechanical aptitude. The position operates on a daytime schedule and requires the ability to work in an indoor/outdoor overhead bay environment as part of a collaborative assembly team.ResponsibilitiesUse hand and power tools to assemble components of construction, crushing, and mining heavy equipment machinery.Assemble subassemblies, hydraulic hoses, hose kits, tracks, and conveyor installations according to work instructions and assembly manuals.Read and interpret assembly manuals, schematics, and blueprints to follow established procedures and assembly sequences.Utilize measuring tools, especially measuring tape, to verify dimensions and ensure parts meet required specifications.Perform mechanical assembly tasks with a high level of attention to detail and quality standards.Follow work instructions and standard operating procedures to complete assembly line tasks efficiently and safely.Handle and install hydraulic assemblies and related components in accordance with technical guidelines.Work in an overhead indoor/outdoor bay using overhead cranes to move and position large components for assembly.Collaborate with team members in the assembly department, contributing to a team-oriented culture and supporting shared production goals.Apply general labor skills such as lifting, positioning, and securing parts during the assembly process.Perform basic electrical and wiring tasks when required as part of equipment assembly.Maintain a self-starter work ethic by proactively managing tasks, meeting deadlines, and identifying opportunities to improve processes.Use tape measures, impact drills, sockets, ratchets, and other basic tools to complete daily assembly work.Follow safety guidelines and proper tool-handling procedures to ensure a safe work environment.Adapt to working in a non-climate-controlled indoor/outdoor setting while maintaining productivity and quality.Essential SkillsHands-on experience using hand and power tools for mechanical assembly.Ability to read and use measuring tools, particularly measuring tape, to confirm accurate dimensions.Capability to read and interpret assembly manuals, work instructions, schematics, and blueprints.Mechanical aptitude and mechanically inclined mindset for troubleshooting and assembling complex machinery components.Experience with hydraulic hoses, hydraulic assembly, hose kits, tracks, and conveyor installation.Proficiency in general labor tasks related to mechanical assembly and construction environments.Basic electrical and wiring skills to support assembly activities as needed.Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality and precise assembly work.Team-oriented approach with the ability to work effectively with others in an assembly department.Self-starter work ethic with the ability to work independently while following established procedures.Additional Skills & QualificationsComfort and experience working in a non-climate-controlled indoor/outdoor environment.Ability to operate and work around overhead cranes used to transport and position components.Experience in construction, mechanical, or heavy equipment assembly environments.Familiarity with assembly line work and following structured work instructions.Ownership of a basic tool set, including tape measure, impact drills, sockets, and ratchets.Blueprint reading skills to support accurate assembly of complex machinery.Experience working with crushing, mining, or heavy machinery equipment is a plus.Why Work Here?Employees benefit from comprehensive company benefits, yearly performance reviews tied to raises, and clear opportunities for financial growth. You will work primarily on a daytime shift, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday. The environment is non-climate-controlled, so you should be comfortable working in varying temperatures and conditions. Daily work involves the use of hand and power tools, including impact drills, sockets, ratchets, and measuring tapes, to assemble and construct heavy construction, crushing, and mining machinery. The setting is industrial and safety-focused, with a team-based atmosphere in the assembly department.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lakeland, FL.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
