Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 4x12-Hour Shifts | 36 or 48 Hours Per Week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry rhythms and manage dysrhythmias, including remote telemetry monitoring
• Manage a diverse patient population including diagnoses such as diabetes, COPD, sepsis, CHF, GI bleed, renal failure, pneumonia, and various post-surgical recovery cases
• Perform and manage IV therapy, central and PICC line care, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and wound care including wound vac
• Operate and maintain respiratory support equipment including BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and oxygen delivery systems
• Float to other units within or near the facility as needed, including a main campus location approximately 32 minutes away

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg or MS/Telemetry nursing experience
• Active NC RN license or valid Compact RN license
• Current BLS certification
• NIHSS certification
• Proficiency with telemetry interpretation, dysrhythmia management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Must be available to work every other weekend and 2 of 3 major holidays; no block schedules unless a weekend block

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification and experience with on-unit telemetry monitoring
• Experience with tracheostomy care, arterial blood gas interpretation, surgical drains, continuous bladder irrigation, and port access/management
• Background in post-cardiac surgery, post-MI, post-angiogram, or post-thoracic surgery care
• Previous charge nurse experience, community hospital background, and proficiency with electronic documentation
