Oncology Nurse Practitioner

Overview JOB SPECIFICS Perform comprehensive patient assessments, evaluate treatment response, and manage acute and chronic oncology-related symptoms and complications. Provide outpatient and potentially inpatient care. Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory studies, diagnostic testing, and imaging to guide treatment planning and patient care. Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary care team to develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans. Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, symptom management, supportive care, and survivorship planning. Participate in oncology clinics and specialty programs, including lung cancer screening, lung cancer clinic, and rapid diagnostic services. Participate in clinical rounds, tumor boards, and interdisciplinary care conferences to support coordinated, high-quality patient care. Coordinate care with nursing, pharmacy, social work, navigation, palliative care, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care. Provide follow-up care and ongoing monitoring for patients receiving systemic therapies and other oncology treatments. Support quality, safety, and patient access initiatives while delivering compassionate, evidence-based oncology care. 8-hour shifts, 8am - 5pm, 40 hours per week. Full-time, clinical base hourly pay range for this position: $60.39-$68.10. This position is salaried. Range shown should be used as an estimate and can be impacted by many factors including but not limited to the critical need of the position, overall experience and qualifications, community need, and other considerations. Additional compensation components may be applicable such as bonuses or incentives which may or may not be based on metric achievement Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Licensed to provide either advanced practice nursing services in the State of Illinois as issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation in accordance with the Illinois Nurse Practice Act OR physician assistant services as issued by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation in accordance with the Illinois Physician Assistant Practice Act of 1987. Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the State of Illinois to prescribe narcotics, if applicable. BLS/ACLS Certified. Must be eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health programs. Provider shall meet all qualifications to participate in OSF's programs for professional malpractice and other liability coverage. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care aligned to the preferences, goals, and needs of the patients served. Acute Care certification for NPs is preferred. Oncology Experience and an Oncology Nursing Certification are preferred. ABOUT OSF CANCER INSTITUTE The Cancer Institute welcomed our first patient in February 2024. We estimate that this 200,000 square foot modern building will serve 3,700 cancer patients annually. Patients will find infusion facilities, dietary guidance, diagnostic testing, cancer support services, surgery and radiation therapy all on campus. Our cancer experts collaborate to develop a tailored treatment plan to meet patients' medical and emotional needs. We focus on the whole person, providing a patient-centered experience. Accreditation include American College of Surgeons - Commission on Cancer (CoC), National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), a national program overseen by the American College of Surgeons. Recognition of excellence by National Accreditation Program for Rectal Cancer (NAPRC), American College of Radiography in breast ultrasound, computed tomography (CT), mammography, MRI, nuclear medicine and ultrasound.
