Classified Vacancy: West Seneca Central School District is seeking a qualified candidate for the following openingat District: Custodian( NY HELPS ) Approx. hours: 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm (Tuesday – Friday) 7:00 am – 3:00 pm (Saturday) Recess hours: 7:00 am – 3:00 pm (Tuesday – Saturday) Note: Contingent based on holiday and building needs Summer hours: 6:00 am – 4:00 pm (Monday – Thursday) The NY HELPS (Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Program Statewide) isa New York State program that allows civil service agencies to hire qualified permanent employees quickly and without requiring them to take a competitive civil service exam.It was created to help agencies fill critical vacancies by streamlining the appointment process, though candidates must still meet all other minimum qualifications for the job. 12-month positions receive paid holidays, sick & personal days, earn vacation time, are eligible for health and dental insurance and membership in the NYS Retirement System. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A. Graduation from high school or vocational school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and one year of experience in either-commercial cleaning practice, or in general building maintenance which included experience in any one of the following trades; Carpentry, Electrical, H.V. and A. C. Systems, Plumbing; OR B. Five years of experience in either-commercial cleaning practices, or in general building maintenance, which included experience in any one of the following trades: Carpentry, Electrical, H.V. and A.C.
