Job Description

Project Accountant Responsibilities:

• Review owner contracts to ensure accurate billing based on contractual terms and prepare timely, accurate billings in accordance with those agreements.
• Analyze and track job-related costs, ensuring adherence to internal control procedures. Reconcile job costs with monthly billings and identify any unbilled or delayed charges.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure smooth billing processes, ensuring all costs are captured and communicated effectively.
• Ensure prompt payment to subcontractors upon receipt of waivers and compile waiver packages for proper project documentation.
• Assist with job closeout by preparing accruals, reconciling project profits and losses, and ensuring accurate financials are recorded at project completion.
• Oversee subcontractor insurance compliance, ensuring its impact on billing and project schedules is appropriately managed.
• Monitor cash flow for each project and ensure financial management practices support project timelines and objectives.

The Successful Applicant

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred
• 2+ years of experience in project accounting, within the construction industry preferred
• Knowledge of GAAP, and other policies and regulations
• Ability to work independently and multi-task
