Postoperative Care Unit Travel Nurse
Provide high-quality postoperative care to patients in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) on a 13-week travel assignment in Fort Collins, Colorado. Work closely with surgical teams, monitor vital signs, and maintain accurate charting while ensuring patient safety. Earn competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor patients' vital signs and recovery progress in the PACU
- Collaborate with surgical teams and anesthesiologists to facilitate smooth patient transitions from surgery to recovery
- Maintain accurate charting in Epic, documenting assessments, interventions, and outcomes
- Respond to on-call duties, providing emergency care within one hour when needed
- Educate patients on postoperative care instructions, discharge procedures, and follow-up needs
Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado or the applicable state
- ACLS (American Heart Association), BLS (American Heart Association), and PALS (American Heart Association) certifications
- Minimum of two years of recent PACU or equivalent acute care experience
- Ability to read EKG strips and strong clinical skills in trauma, cardiac, orthopedic, and pulmonary cases
- Excellent communication skills
- Flexibility with variable start times and willingness to work on-call shifts
- Reliable transportation to the facility
