Job Description Summary
The Student Recruitment & Outreach Specialist serves as a primary recruitment representative for the MUSC College of Pharmacy, supporting strategic enrollment goals across the admissions pipeline. This Student Recruitment & Outreach Specialist is responsible for managing prospective students from initial inquiry through application submission by providing timely outreach, high-touch guidance, individualized support, and exceptional customer service. The role develops and executes targeted recruitment strategies, cultivates relationships with high schools, colleges, community organizations, advisors, and professional partners, and represents the College through virtual and in-person recruitment events, presentations, and outreach initiatives. Student Recruitment & Outreach Specialist will be responsible for meeting annual application and pipeline program goals. The position serves as a key user of the College’s CRM platform, maintaining accurate prospect records, coordinating communication plans in collaboration with the College’s Admissions Manager and Digital Marketing Manager. This position requires travel and the ability to work a flexible schedule that may fall outside of traditional office hours (after 5 p.m. and weekends) to meet the needs of prospective students. This position reports directly to the Admissions Manager. After a probationary period, this position may allow a hybrid schedule of 1-2 days of remote work.Entity

Job Description
30% External Outreach and Relationship Development
Serve as the lead representative for the College of Pharmacy at targeted local, state, regional, and national recruitment opportunities. Establish and maintain a strong network of professional relationships with pre-professional advisors, STEM faculty, student organizations, high schools, technical schools, four-year colleges, community partners, and other recruitment stakeholders. Coordinate and participate in virtual and in-person recruitment events, including one-on-one visits, presentations, fairs, pre-pharmacy club meetings, panels, conferences, virtual information sessions, and other outreach activities. Responsible for identifying priority recruitment markets, scheduling all visits, and coordinating all travel. Anticipate 60% travel.
20% Develop and Execute a Strategic Recruitment Plan
Under the direction of the Admissions Manager, develop and execute a strategic recruitment plan that supports the College’s enrollment goals. Manage prospective students through the recruitment lifecycle by educating them on program offerings, admissions requirements, prerequisite pathways, and application processes. Use recruitment data, inquiry trends, event outcomes, and conversion metrics to identify opportunities for targeted outreach and to make informed recommendations for improving recruitment effectiveness. Prepares the recruitment and outreach annual report and is responsible for meeting or exceeding key performance indicators established by college leadership.
20% College Recruitment Programming
Plan, coordinate, and evaluate College of Pharmacy recruitment programming for prospective students and support MUSC-wide events aligned with enrollment goals. Programs may include PharmDamentals (high school summer program) , PREP (college summer program), Student Mentors for Future Pharmacists, Pharmacy Career Pathways Certificate Program, Virtual Information Sessions, Discover MUSC, Envision Day MUSC, campus visits, shadowing experiences, and other targeted engagement opportunities. Manage all aspects of event planning and execution, including scheduling, registration, staffing, set-up/break-down, prospective student communications, internal coordination, and post-event follow-up. Create and tailor presentations, talking points, and recruitment materials to align with audience needs, program priorities, and College messaging.
15% CRM Communication and Strategy
With support from the College’s Admissions Manager and Digital Marketing Manager, develop and execute recruitment communication plans and targeted outreach campaigns, ensuring messages align with College branding, enrollment priorities, and prospective student needs. Document and track prospective communication via the CRM and use CRM data to identify opportunities for engagement, workflow improvements, and to strengthen recruitment funnels.
10% Inbound Recruitment SupportWith an emphasis on outstanding customer service and rapid response turnaround, serves as the main point of contact for the College of Pharmacy recruitment inquiries from prospective students, including but not limited to coordination of all campus tour requests and pharmacy shadowing experiences. Supports a seamless prospective student experience from inquiry to application by providing timely, accurate, and individualized guidance by email, telephone, SMS, virtual platforms, and in-person appointments.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience in higher education recruitment, enrollment management, admissions, student services, or a related field.
- Experience recruiting for pharmacy, healthcare, health professions, graduate, or professional degree programs.
- Demonstrated experience developing strategic recruitment plans and achieving enrollment goals.
- Experience utilizing CRM platforms such as Anthology, Slate, Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar systems to manage prospective student engagement and communications.
