FVP, Alm Manager

The FVP, ALM Manager serves as the Bank's senior leader responsible for asset liability strategy, interest rate risk oversight, and balance sheet analytics. Reporting directly to the Treasurer, this role leads the ALM team, manages Cathay Bank's (the "Bank") ALM modeling platform, and develops analytical frameworks that support strategic decision-making. This position has a critical role in optimizing balance sheet performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting long-term financial planning across the organization.

Essential functions include overseeing the Bank's ALM framework, evaluating interest rate risk exposures, leading interest rate risk measurement activities, managing the Empyrean ALM model, preparing and presenting ALM results, leading deposit analytics, providing ALM inputs into capital planning, developing multi-scenario stress testing frameworks, partnering with the Treasurer on funding mix optimization, analyzing the investment portfolio, serving as the primary liaison with Model Risk Management, overseeing data quality, preparing ALCO materials, partnering with FP&A, and leading, mentoring, and developing ALM staff.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field, 7-10 years of experience in ALM, Treasury, liquidity management, or related financial risk disciplines, deep understanding of asset liability management principles, strong analytical, quantitative, and financial modeling skills, familiarity with regulatory expectations, and ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly.

Pay is $175,000 – $198,900/year, determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This position may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
