Low Voltage Cable Technician

Job Description A low voltage communications cabling contracting company is looking for technicians with a background in the VOICE, DATA, SECURITY, A/V, CCTV, FIBER OPTIC industries. Minimum of 1 year experience with installing, terminating and testing cabling for low voltage applications. Duties include: Installation and terminations of various types of low voltage cable systems such as VOICE/ DATA, A/V, SECURITY, CCTV. Building of communication rooms/closets with equipment racks and cable management systems. Perform moves, adds and changes (MAC) on existing communication cable plants from single floor to campus environments. Should be able to read floor plans/drawings and interface with clients. Qualifications Ability to work and communicate clearly with co workers, clients and other trades. Willingness to work overtime. Experience with Structured Cabling, A/V, Access Control, Terminations, Programming, Networking, Automation and control works. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including communication with clients. Own basic tools and equipment, and be able to use all needed tools for routing, securing, and terminating wire and wiring harnesses, mounting equipment. Job sites are in NYC area - Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Long Island. Must have a valid driver's license. Maintain organized paper work including Work Orders, Time Sheets, Cable Test Results, etc. Self-starter, punctual, professional, and works well independently. Must have a clean/neat appearance. Candidates will have Federal Sponsored background checks required.
